Daniel Grúň (1977, Piešťany) is an art historian, curator and writer. He studied art history at Trnava University (Slovak Republic). In 2009 he completed his Ph.D. thesis on art criticism of the 1960s in Czechoslovakia. He was a co-curator and co-editor of the first international retrospective Július KollerOne Man Anti Showin Mumok, Vienna. He has been writing on postwar art in Eastern Europe, artist’s archives, self-historicisation and legacy of neo-avant-gardes. Currently he teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and conducts research at the Institute of Art History, Slovak Academy of Sciences. He is in charge of The Július Koller Society, lives and works in Bratislava.
